What is the schedule for September?
- Kindergarten Round Up: New kindergarteners will meet the teachers and visit each classroom, while parents learn more about Silverdale Elementary. (August 22 from 9:00 - 10:00 am)
- Class Placement: Families will receive class placement information by email from your child’s new teacher. (August 27 at 3:30 pm)
- Meet & Greet/Conference Sign Up: Families are invited to an open house to visit their classrooms, sign up for a family connection meeting, tour the school, and enjoy popsicles on the playground. (August 28 from 4:30 - 6:00 pm)
- Family Connection Meetings: Parents and students will meet with the teacher for a 30 - 45 minute session to get to know one another. (September 3rd, 4th, or 5th)
- First Day of School: Kindergarteners will begin their first full day of school. (September 8th)
How can I help my child prepare?
- Talk about what school will be like
- Practice morning routines
- Encourage curiosity and confidence
- Let your child know it's okay to feel both excited and nervous!
